The overhaul has now reached a significant stage with the return of the refurbished & retyred wheelsets to Stockton on Tees from the South Devon Railway. The work of refurbishing the frames and motion has been delayed because of the Covid 19 partial lockdown but Northern Steam are expecting to claw back some of the delay as additional staff are now working on the engine. Rewheeling the loco is expected by the end of August. The boiler repairs have been agreed with the Boiler Insurers and our VAB and the main boiler work will commence in October.
