Ashford International Model Railway Education Centre (AIMREC) in Bethersden near Ashford is to join the Gresley 150 anniversary celebrations throughout July 2026.
AIMREC is now the permanent home of the famous layout ‘The Gresley Beat’ which models the King’s Cross approaches and ‘Top Shed’ in the classic LNER era by Cliff Parsons and his team.
On weekend throughout July, ‘The Gresley Beat’ will be running an exhibition timetable for the first time since the layout was withdrawn from the exhibition circuit, featuring many of Sir Nigel Gresley’s finest creations.
Members of the Gresley Society will be entitled to 20% off the admission fee on showing their membership card.
The Gresley Society’s ‘Gresley 150 Anniversary’ and ‘Gresley Society’ headboards in 0/7mm, 00/4mm, TT120 and N/2mm scales will also be available to purchase.
