Hopetown Darlington will be participating in the Gresley 150 anniversary celebrations with a talk by Gresley Society Trustee Mark Allatt at 12:00hrs on Saturday 6 June 2026 in The Carriage Works, Hopetown Darlington, McNay Street, Darlington, DL3 6SW.

Mark will talk about the extraordinary life and achievements of the 20th century’s foremost locomotive engineer and his strong connections with Darlington Works, where 702 new locomotives were constucted during his time as CME of the LNER.
