‘The Silver Jubilee’ was the first streamlined train in the UK when introduced by the LNER in 1935 and ran between London King’s Cross and Newcastle Central.

‘The Coronation’ was a streamlined express passenger train introduced by the LNER in 1937 and ran between London King’s Cross and Edinburgh Waverley. 

‘The West Riding Limited’ was a streamlined express passenger train introduced by the LNER in 1937 and ran between London King’s Cross, Leeds and Bradford.

‘The East Anglian’ was a streamlined express passenger train introduced by the LNER in 1937 and ran between Liverpool Street and Norwich.

The stock for ‘The Flying Scotsman’ was replaced by the LNER in 1938 with two new pressure ventilated luxury trains.
