The Gresley Observer
JOURNAL OF THE GRESLEY SOCIETY
Published three times a year for distribution to Society members.
Over recent years it has expanded and is now 170mm x 240mm format and 96 page editions are now not uncommon.
Black & white and colour photographs, some previously unpublished.
In the Journal we publish articles about the life and work of Sir Nigel Gresley, the Great Northern Railway, the London & North Eastern Railway, British Railways Eastern and North Eastern Regions, and Doncaster Works (The Plant). Members who worked for the LNER and British Railways, members who trained at The Plant, write about their experiences. Plus book reviews and Letters to the Editor – which, again, include many first-hand accounts of railway work and railway experiences.
Larger photographic supplements are also published from time to time.
Back issues are available to purchase from the Hon. Editor, Chris Nettleton, The Gresley Society Trust, c/o City of Doncaster Archives, Chequer Road, Doncaster DN1 2AE or .
